About Nia
“My goal and purpose is to humanize athletes to help further connect them to the fans through ordinary commonalities.”
Nia Gibson is a dedicated sports journalist and storyteller committed to humanizing athletes and building deeper connections between them and their fans. A former Division I track and field athlete and lifelong sports enthusiast, Nia brings a unique dual perspective—understanding the world of sports through both the athlete’s lens and the fan’s experience.
She is currently an on-air host and multimedia journalist at FloTrack, where she covers track and field with insight, authenticity, and a passion for elevating athlete narratives.
Nia holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from Syracuse University and a Master’s in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a Sports Communications emphasis from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Her professional journey includes roles at ESPN and Your World Media, where she strengthened her skills in content creation and strategic social media management. She has also worked with Overtime and the National Basketball Association (NBA), gaining experience in crafting compelling stories that resonate and drive engagement across platforms.
Nia’s work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling that goes far beyond reporting scores or highlights. She strives to capture the humanity behind every athlete’s journey.
